“Delightfully Deceitful: My Chun Woo-hee obsession”
I am a Chun Woo-hee fan, period. That is honestly the main reason I started watching Delightfully Deceitful on Netflix. I have been following her ever since I saw her in Be Melodramatic (I have watched it thrice already!). She was so authentic that I kept forgetting where the character ended and she began.

Life is all about the friendships that we create over our lifetime. I am genuinely lucky, as I have a beautiful set of friends from different parts of my life. I guess that is why I got so deeply lured into “Reply 1988“. My childhood gang has had a major impact on my life from kindergarten until now, strikingly similar to the series. We are all so different, just like Deok-sun ( Lee Hye-ri) and her gang, that we sometimes discuss whether we would have been friends if we had met later in life.

“Reply 1988” is a true masterpiece in the world of Korean dramas. For me, it’s more than just a show, it lured me in via a nostalgic journey through time. A journey that felt like it was mine. Have you ever felt that way while watching a series, a movie or reading a book? I will be honest about myself. Before discovering “Reply 1988”, my attention was mostly on the actors in Korean TV series. It wasn’t until this incredible show that I started appreciating the brilliance of writing, screenplay, and direction.

A peek into my life
I grew up in the super city of Mumbai. My roots are deeply entrenched here, where I’ve treasured millions of moments with my family and childhood gang, many of whom still live there. We have so many stories to chat about and rofl on, and they still bring tears (of joy) to my eyes. Growing up in Mumbai doesn’t mean we meet celebrities or stars on a daily basis, but it does mean that I have had a lot of Bollywood drama and extremely melodramatic Indian TV series to fill a lifetime.

One of the recent gems I’ve stumbled upon is …
“Like Flowers in Sand“
This Korean drama follows the lives of Oh Yoo-Kyung (played by Lee Ju-myoung) and Kim Baek-du (played by Jang Dong-yoon). I loved the story-telling and direction (Kim Jin-Woo). The casting team has picked a cast to match the drama perfectly. Every actor, from the main leads to the supporting cast, played their part flawlessly, making the entire drama feel incredibly authentic. And from the moment I laid eyes on Baek-du playing Ssirieum, I was hooked.
